  • Is that a shadow or a Hitler mustache?

  • The first McDonald's in Japan was constructed over the weekend.

  • @captaindiesalot real reason: no competition. The power is highly concentrated in the federal government, so you have a power monopoly. The states no longer have the incentives to ever make progress because they have nothing to work with. Even education/healthcare services has to be regulated by the Feds. The reason why life was better in the 50s-80s was because States had more power, and their taxes heavily relied on the state's economy.

  • The city is repairing a service building near my work. They have been working on it for 3 months, when it was a "month project". To compare, a taco bell near my apartment complex was renovated down to its frame and back in 2 weeks. they even repaved the parking lot!

  • this loser needs to get laid

  • *sarcasm* You can't pay some evil capitalist to build something that the public will use... they're just going to make money!

  • @gibblets17 And we can't do that by blaming each other or some political or economic ideology. The actual enemy IS in plain sight. It's the assholes in D.C. and their rich elite butt-buddy friends, compromising EVERYONE elses interests. Eliminate that core corruption FIRST, THEN we can talk about a balanced and sustainable political and economic ideology.

  • @gibblets17 And for the last 30 years or so, it certainly has been shown to be the middle and lower classes. That's anything BUT the result of actual socialism. Internationalism maybe, spawned by corporate interests and manipulation. There's no reason we can't reimpliment our old protectionism and production jobs, other than it would make THEM less money, not us, and they certainly don't like that.

America needs to reclaim a great deal of it's former economic independence.

  • @gibblets17 And those priorities force the public into a corner of desperation. Outsourced jobs, lower wages, steady high unemployment, longer hours, disappearing pensions, and now even social security and the budget are floundering because people can't put as much into it like the country used to. All these are caused by exploitation for profits in the private sector and put a massive unnecessary strain on public funded programs. Record profits mean someone else is losing money.
