Anyone can make FSX run good, just give them about
$5,000 to buy a top of the line computer.

My purpose/challenge, was to take mainstream
components and build a computer that anyone could use
to enjoy FSX

I think I've accomplished most of my goals with this
system, on a budget of about $700 U.S.

Specs:

Intel Core i5-650 CPU @ 4.4 ghz (stock 3.2)
Biostar TH55XE H55 motherboard
4 GB 1333 DDR3 Ram
1 GB Nvidia GT240 graphics
1 TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM HD
Coolmax 500w Modular power supply
Coolermaster Elite 360 HTPC case
COolIT ALC ECO water cooler

I've also tweaked the FSX.CFG file to remove the
standard bugs:

[Bufferpools]
UsePools=0

[JobScheduler]
AffinityMask=14

[Graphics]
HighMemFix=1

Not many addons, but UTX, GEX, and REX are installed

External camera used to record off my Samsung 40"
1080p LCD tv. Camera used is Canon Powershot SD1400
IS HD video mode. There are better HD cameras, but I
got this camera mainly for photo shooting, not video

Anyway let me know how you think I did.

This PMDG 747 flight is an unusual approach and landing into
Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (KMSP), a
visual approach to Runway 17. Coming from the east,
turning south you can see downtown Minneapolis as
well as lake Calhoun and Harriet and 35W on the way
into runway 17. As an added bonus, towards the end
after landing you can see the Mall of America shortly
off in the distance, which is really very close to
MSP airport. Enjoy and feel free to comment, and also
to request additional videos.

    Watrcooling? Mainstream?

  • @The1FlyingHigh yeah its called the ECO A.L.C. (advanced liquid cooling). Its an all-in-one unit, no hoses to hook up or pumps to install...it installs basically like your cpu fan and heatsink, not much harder than that really. Its the easiest watercooling solution there is.
