I had such a crush on Mitzi when I was a child & just learning to dance. One day I got an autographed photo of hers with very encouraging words for me. Seems my uncle knew how I felt about her ... (Still do!)

All respect to Mitzi Gaynor fans, and yes, she knows what she's doing with a mic (unlike those 'artists' who need their voices programmed through a computer to sound barely tolerable). However, I call attention to the original Four Fellows group, from Brooklyn New York. The group I refer to was on the forefront of what came to be known as "doo-wop". These men backing up Mitzi have no relation to them. Search YouTube for their name, and find the song "Soldier Boy", you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Am so glad to notice that you are still (literally) kicking (and using that same Internet which will save us all). I have always enjoyed your projection of all-girl, and as I barely recall from one of your bio-interviews, would have applauded not demeaned your early appearance in the studio commisary. Not only are you always looking good, but I really love your attitude. All the luck in the world in your forthcoming program.

How delightful it was to find these videos. I still have an old autographed photo card she sent to me back in the 50's. (That was when yo could just write the name of your favorite movie star and put hollywood california on it and you got an autograph picture. I have always treasured it. What young girl didnt want to be just like her. I'll be checking back here often.
