Asbestos Bundoran Astoria Ballroom. Low water pressure and lack of water.

Built in 1953 by Phil O`Connell and held showbands shows for a number of decades.

There was no public information provided by any department for residents in the area and when I rang Donegal County Council environmental section on Monday 1Dec08, it was the first they heard about the asbestos roof?????????????

In 2007 Bundoran Town Council took away the Road right of way at Meehans Lane that was on the other side of this land, that meant when the WATER TANKER arrived it had to go back up town and around Sea Road to access the other side of the building. Well done Bundoran Councillors if this building had been open then people would have died because of getting rid of a Public Right of Way. Dont forget there was a 800 petition to keep this Road open.

@Krisando Don't think so. Asbestos has been used for many year in building roofs.
