In this video I give a full tutorial on how to use the Absinthe untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1. Absinthe by Chronic Dev is compatible with the iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 as well as the iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1 and is fully untethered. Currently Absinthe is for Mac OS X only however a Windows and Linux version should be available soon. I show how to jailbreak your iPhone 4S and iPad 2 as well as what happens if you have an error, bug, glitch or problem getting the Absinthe jailbreak to work properly such as if VPN doesn't work, the Absinthe app isn't functioning, passcode lock is causing problems or Cydia does not work.

Okay This is for all the people who are experecing the absinthe.exe has stopped working

this is what you need to do

1) when you are extracting it do both the files not just the Absinthe. ( extract the data folder to)

2) put them both in a seprate folder

3) run as administrator

I tried on my ipad 2 with 5.0.1, everything went fine, but at the end of the process you need to finish opening the app in the ipad but i received an error, when i do jailbreak directly on my ipad app says: "Cannot open absinthe" absinthe could not be opened, the error was: "the URL can't be shown" close or retry, I do retry, got same message, I tried turning on the vpn, and I received another error message: VPN CONNECTION a configuration error ocurred. can you help? thanks..

@Trygve97 All you have to do is restore your phone in iTunes. This will restore it to factory settings and then, if need be, will bring your phone to the last backup file.

I bought an iphone that is locked to the Bell network, but I am Rogers...The phone has been completely wiped, so now when I put my Rogers SIM in and try to activate it gives me the SIM is not valid screen. Is there anyway to use Absinthe to activate the phone, or do I have to unlock it first before I can jailbreak?

Still get the VPN Connection error while connected to Windows system

Question to any experienced: Due to having secure corporate email on my iPhone, I cannot disable the passcode lock mentioned in this video as a pre-jailbreak step. Is this a concern?.. something that should prevent me from trying?

@Trygve97 dont ask me how as i dont know but, even if you get rid of it they can tell if you have jailbroken it. to delete it all you have to do is restore

@ps3andpcproductions if you mean install apps for free, you have to download installous. just type in "how to install installous" in the search bar (type in something like that doesnt have to be that exactly)
