Preah Vihear Temple - Cambodia

Prasat Preah Vihear is one of Cambodia's most famous temples situated on the border between Cambodia and Thailand. It's a UNESCO world heritage site. There has been serious dispute between Cambodia and Thailand about the ownership of the temple. The conflict has led to periodic outbreaks of violence. During our visit (August 2011) the situation was calm.

@salinster i kno im glad all the fighting is more peaceful now that thailand has a new government.it was definitely the highlight of my trip visiting the soldiers.people thought we were crazy to go there because no khmer people except khmer americans like me went lol.we were gonna go to that festival but i was in Battambang and was to far away to go.im glad we decided not too.i feel so bad for those people. i dont understand why police didnt shut down an over crowded bridge?

@Khmaiiboy I was there around the same time. Crazy riding up the side of the Mountain to get to the temple.  It sad to see parts of the temple destroyed already from the thai's. I was there for the water festival too when all those people died on the bridge. I took video on my iPhone4 it was hectic
