Poles Apart part 2

In 2004, eight Eastern European states joined the EU and since then there has been a huge number of Polish workers coming into the UK. With the help of Hants Media Hub and funding from Awards For All, the students of Testbourne Community School decided to make a short film, examining the Polish community in the UK. The students received training from Hants Media Hub in camera techniques, lighting skills and interview strategies before making the film. They then visited locations including a Polish bar & restaurant, schools and a local toddlers group, with the aim of gaining an insight into Polish people, their culture and issues that they face when coming to the UK.

@mty1 Hey mate! This is actually a very complicated thing. Poland has been doomed to a life under comunism. We neer wanted it, it has been forced upon us. It was like Churchil, Stalin and Roosevelt that literally enslaved our country. If not for them and their little dirty plan Poland would have been a well off western nation.

It's really nice of these kids to make this movie. I'm happy that the Polish community finally got some positive attention. It's stupid that all those xenophobic people complain so much about Polish immigrants. Consider this, the Polish children who grow up in England will really be no different than their native English counterparts. They will fully assimilate into British society. They might even end up intemarrying. Look at this boy Szymon, he doesn't even have an accent in English.
