On October 4th 2011 Romanian Alex Gavan reached the summit of Manaslu (8156m) in the Nepal Himalayas. As in his previous ascents of Cho Oyu-8201m, Gasherbrum 1-8068m and Makalu-8463m, he used no supplementary oxygen or Sherpa support. He reached the top on the 17th day after arriving in Base Camp. It was a quite fast ascent for an 8000m summit given the fact he had no prior acclimatisation. More info on www.alexgavan.ro
