Open Voting Consortium (OVC) provided a voting system for the LinuxWorld conference at Moscone Center in San Francisco, Aug 5-7. The system is called an Electronic Ballot Printer, which prints voters' choices in the voting booth.

  • That's a reasonable question. Green Party candidate Cynthia McKinney wasn't on the ballot either. We had nothing to do with choices or contests on the ballot. That was given to us by conference organizers.

  • All very nice, but there is NO intention by authorities to have elections the public can monitor. There was never any problem doing honest elections... they don't WANT to do that.

  • Why wasn't Ron Paul on the ballot?

  • we've been told that politics is a dirty, expensive and complicated game, but it doesn't have to be. it can be cheap and easy to implement. it can be open for scrutiny and study.

    our culture doesn't benefit from secrecy and obfuscation. we can be powerful when we're more involved and attentive. i saw chris daly with you guys, and i'm hopeful more politicians realize what potential you've got. if your product can invite more people into the process then i'm all for it.
