  • Hey, I have a 1970 Chevelle and am aiming to repaint sections of it, but the biggest problem that I am running into is rust. Do you have any recommendations for dealing with rust?

  • @walkdn2opensewer hey I would google about that question I'm not the best expert with rust but i do know its really tough to get it all out so it doesnt come back...

  • just use a heat gun and a plastic scraper for the pin stripe and any stickers if you dont want to wreck your paint. Then paint thinner and a rag gets the glue off, (just dont rub too hard or the paint will blemish and look like crap)

  • @Tobine22 Good tip- thanks for that

  • Hi I have a vintage car it's british racing green i want to paint the centre of the car from side of bonnet to back door Beige will i have to sand all the paint off or just take the shine off it.

  • @Farmer2492 That's a great question. I'd actually recommend going with vinyl if i understand correctly- You're doing a racing stripe down the middle? I'd go with vinyl. If you're going to paint though I'd mask it off and sand it carefully and then when you'e done you'll use 2000 grit sandpaper to even the ridge where green/beige meet then buff the heck out of it!

  • Hey, First off I would like to say your videos are very helpful and awesome. But i have a question. I heard Maaco doesnt do a good job painting cars, the paint job always ends up peeling and cracking. I was wondering what i would have to do prep it myself so all they have to do is paint. Do i have to sand the car to bare metal and primer it. Or just do as you said and just 400 grit it. And if i have to sand it to bare metal what do i need.

  • or you could just use mr blow dryer to remove the pinstriping you just warm it up and peel it off. way easier.

  • @jayd1563 Hey at least I didn't pull out the brush roller.....

  • a belt sander! For christ sake your not finishing a deck!,,use a da or even a palm sander.
