BEFORE YOU MOVE HERE, DO THE RESEARCH:
For those curious to see how the cost of living in Los Angeles compares to other parts of the United States, click here:
http://www.bankrate.com/calculators/savings/moving-cost-of-living-calculator....

My buddy Al opens up and speaks frankly about his own experience moving here from his home in the Midwest. This is for everyone with lofty, starry-eyed visions of what living here might be like.
Some of you are in for a rude awakening.

  • LA just sprawls and sprawls and if I'm going to show off California i'd take them to a real inspired place like the Bay Area. I'm biased cause I'm raised here, but there are many sights round the bay that can leaving you staring in awe, undoubtably the Creator's work, heck take some herb with you...if it were up to the bay area alone, it'd be legal, unfortunately is's SoCall that's a little behind the curve

  • @nhut91 You missed the point.

Perhaps it was all the herb...

  • hey guys, you think LA is expensive? I live in switzerland zurich. I pay alone for my appartment 2000 € each month. When I visit Los Angeles in the holidays, its like Iam rich :D

  • @xray170585 Funny coincidence - I was just discussing Switzerland's cost of living with someone a couple days back.

    It's all relative, right? :-)

  • What if you are attending USC or UCLA what advice do you guys have to moving to LA.

  • @TaylorMarie94 I don't know from personal experience, but I'd guess that to be one of the best ways to "try on" this city. You'd likely be living in a dorm or close to school and be involved with campus life. Plus which, both of those colleges are fantastic to have on a resume. If you can make either of those happen, you're smart to go for it!

  • NEW YORK CITY IS WORST

  • I don't know this video is brutally honest, I like that, but it's also a bit pessimistic. I've heard many sides to this argument about moving to LA, not sure which to believe, I know for one you can expect to be broke most likely, which I am willing to put up with, but people make it seem as though is literally impossible beyond a shadow of a doubt to get by there.

But then again I have never been there, plan on moving soon, but never actually been, so who am I to talk.

  • when i went to the US the locals keep complaining how everything is so damn expensive, I live in Australia and right now petrol costs 5.49$ per gallon, 2.50$ for 1 quart of milk and about 2.20$ for a loaf of bread.

  • OMG! I think the same thing when I'm in traffic! Yea and if you want to move here, be prepared to fight to the death for a job, and if you don't have experience, be ready to make $8.00 to $10.00 an hour. thats like $15,000 to $30,000 a year.

  • I left Cali 6 years ago and I wish I had stayed.

  • @TheTopBloke yeah I heard about what is going on the only reason I am considering going to LA because most of my family is there and my mom is going back since her job allows her to live anywhere she wants ( work-at-home)
