A tool I created to assist in the use of Block and Tackle lifting. Affectioniately called, Da-Tug.

Conditions for it's use certainly weren't ideal, but you get the idea.

  • Hey, fellow LHBA member here. Did you ever figure out the reverse on this?

    Bowhunter

  • @tzxj3n Well, yes, but the design was modified so it no longer is lever actuated. Da-Tug 2 uses a Milwaukee Hole Hawg to run a capstan drum. To take up line just run the drill, and add a little tension to the rope which is wrapped around the drum three times. It still uses one dog to hold the load, and also has a foot operated lever which releases the dog, and line can be let out by just easing up tension on the rope wound on the drum.

  • Hello reidnaueri know how to get the load down, in a slow way so it dosent fall fast! email me

    for my design

  • the basic principle is kinda Medievel... that of a crossbow claw. The dogs part of it though, is rather clever!

  • Very nice. Just need to design a way to lower the load and you've really got something.

  • Great video! Da-Tug is mechanical advantage at its finest.

  • nice video. Thx.
