for the fringes of the majority calling for the removal & rejection of certain groups of people. I sense deep down we can be intolerant, wishing for homogenity & fanatical allegiance to one nation, religion & culture against all others different from our own. Conditions in which genocide occurs is when conomic crises, fear of invasion or wars, & politically charged issues go astray. But in the USA, we're a democratic country built on the foundation of equality & justice, so genocide is avoided.+

Causes of genocide is caused by brief periods of social hysteria or sensationalized hype known as 'moral panics', like fear of pedophiles harming children. So far in the USA, we never had a mass murder of suspected or convicted child sex predators. Also at times when most Americans didn't like black people, homosexuals or GLBT, other races or ethnicities (Italians, French-Canadians or American Indians) & religious sects (Mormons, Adventists or Muslims) & the poor or homeless, it was feasible.

I hate to admit this, but some Americans quietly WISH FOR or WANT genocide against certain groups to happen. Racists, bigots, classists, xenophobes, homophobes & sexists. Certain disasters or events in history: Civil rights movement, Gay Liberation, Feminism, illegal immigration, multiculturalism, new religions, political culture wars, terrorism like the 9-11 attacks & race riots like in L.A. back in 1992; infurirated some of the majority, over alleged threats, sedition, or immorality by them.
