  • I'm looking for a good book about seed saving with colour pictures etc

anyone know which book explains it so that a beginner can do it with no problems

    thx

  • @LetsCook2gether my book has a chapter on it, its out in feb 2011 "the produce garden" (title)

  • thanks! i usually grow it for a few years then cut it, lol. i needed a change.

  • you can buy seed raising mix, or put them in the garden, maybe with a transparent covering to keep the heat in

  • rocket is a type of lettuce, quite peppery but really nice!

  • thats a great idea, thanks

  • A safer way of preventing moisture from ruining your seeds is to pop a dozen grains of dry rice into your jar before sealing it up. It will absorb any moisture. I also keep a few grains of rice in my salt shaker for the same purpose to prevent my salt getting moist and getting clumpy and it works great. I enjoy your videos very much! Thanks!

  • is your book out?

if so Where can I buy it online

  • Hi, Very nice videos you got, Does light have any effect on the seeds once they are in the jar? Do we have to store them in the dark or just leave them in our room? Thanks!

  • Hi,

Thank you for sharing the knowledge.

Couple of questions if I may: I thought "pods" should dry on the plant to ensure better efficiency of the seed - to mature so to speak. I was told that for Cucumbers, is it? and what about green peas green & peas in specific?

Second, can you keep a dry Mango seed for next season?

    Thanks in advance for replying.

  • very useful tip mate ive just got an allotment in the uk keep the seed let nature do the rest..well almost..

  • One question (as I'm watching your video) when you place your tomato seeds on the paper towel do you ferment them first?

I have seeds I saved from my mother in law's yeild last year and plan on planting them but it would be really nice if I could avoid the fermentation process this year.

  • pretty sure most root veggies are biannual or whatever. meaning it takes 2 years to seed
