i got a new metro in '98, sold it in '07 for $3400 with 37,000 miles on it, i put 15x6 alloy wheels on it. now i have an '08 smart with 15x6 alloy wheels on it and the same 1 liter, 3 cylinder engine (cept it has 12 valves to the metro's 6), i've been driving 3 cylinder cars for over 20 years now, love em! (i got 32,000 miles on my smart in 3 years, should beat the 9 year metro miles by year's end!)

I got mine for $300, and it's a convertible! I put $1,500 in the motor, and it's running like new again. I am still breaking in the motor, and it is a peppy little lass!

you're most likely letting in a lot of dirt with that hacked filter job..that motor isn't gonna last nearly as long as you probably hope it will..

I have a '94 5=speed hatch with only 117K original miles, and she runs like a damned dream. Smooth as Japanese silk. Who said 3 cylinder engines couldn't be smooth? You could balance a nickel on my valve cover once the engine is warm!

Awwwww yeaaaaahhh...I'm rollin on 12 inch dubs, with a 61 cubic inch big block under da' hood, yo! lol Gettin' almost 50MPG, kicking prius ass with no car payment! lol

I'm laughing at the haters in the SUVs that often scowl at me when I fill up once a month! lol

Got mine when gas was $1.89/gallon for $1,300 with only 112K on the clock.

I still, to this day, feel like I stole that fucking car. Do what I did: check Craigslist DAILY, and walk away from dogs...wait for the right car that is in great shape. I had to drive so many cars before I found a good one. But now I'm glad a I found her.
