This is a retrospective of JB's career, minus several MB's of credits, so: Thanks Brian McArthur for many of the clips, and everyone at jonathanbrandis.org - (no this is NOT a commercial, and it looks like the site may be gone now in any case.) I was forced to 'audio-swap' the soundtrack, which took weeks to synch, but, since SONY got huffy about the SAME track on another video, I'll be happy that the piece (which is beautiful, Mahler's 5th Symphony, Adagio), can be used here and fits - more or less, (about eight seconds too long), though it's a sight more somber than the music originally featured. (Thanks WMG - holder of one of the copyrights, clearly cited in the original message here.)
Okay, so the episode of "Full House" is mislabeled as "Who's The Boss". Same year, about a month apart. So a FEW things are missing, (mostly earlier work) but that was the nature of the game in 2005 when I actually MADE this tribute. Someone told me that my software program couldn't handle more than eight clips. SOMEONE wanted this to be done, then, because there are something like 39 of them here.

Five years later and a hundred thousand views, the message is still there, kid.

You mattered.

You STILL matter.

We remember.

Rest in peace, now and always.

Be aware that WMG (and YouTube) completely removed the original soundtrack, though JB worked for them (and he made them a tidy profit.) Yet another example of corporate greed destroying creativity. Next someone will walk through graveyards and chisel off the poetry quoted there as 'copyright infringement'. This video was done for purely EDUCATIONAL purposes, as a MEMORIAL to a friend, and had NO purpose of self-aggrandizement, advertisement or profit (my name isn't even in it anywhere at all), nor was it intended to lessen the profits of any corporation or decrease the number of CD's an old 90's group might still sell. The music used (that WAS used) herein was all content the eponymous enjoyed and would have probably liked linked to his memory (without controversy,) including ORIGINAL compositions. One of the points of the video was to allow people to HEAR JB's voice - which is now totally gone from the piece.

Enjoy the pictures, anyway, until Viacom, or some other corporate amoeba finishes destroying the content.

If you're dropping by to dump your intolerance and ignorance on someone who can't fight back, congratulations, you're banned and removed (for good) and may all the gifts that you so greatly deserve be given to you in abundance.

(Because THIS one CAN fight back...)

  • Who the fuck disliked this video? Asshole. R.I.P. JB.

  • Mahler's 5th Symphony...reminds me of the Sergei Grinkov tribute. It's the same piece Ekaterina Gordeeva skated to by herself for the 1st time. Very fitting but very sad. Had the biggest crush on Jonathan. He was so much more than a pretty face, & he's missed to this very day.

  • @angelfish1991 Yes, as it says in the info, originally this had a somewhat more upbeat score, but someone who hasn't released a record in twenty years decided that their 'copyright' was more important than having the song rekindled in peoples' minds by remembering someone who liked it, and I lost the soundtrack (some of which was my original music.)

Ah, SOPA will be such fun!

  • @strke69 Don't make it TOO soon.

    Live life first.

  • I didn't know until recently about Brandis' passing. I'm very sad to say the least.

Sidekicks was one of my favorite movies when it was released when I was in middle school, and struck a chord with me because I was bullied A LOT and was very scrawny for my age. That film was tremendously encouraging to me. Now that I can still look back and say that movie helped me in life is a testament to Brandis' work. RIP Brandis and thank you.

  • RIP he was my acting idol

  • @annamariapiotrowicz2 You're right. He was in a LOT of the courtroom scenes (still is, if you've got sharp eyes.) The short deleted scene you might be talking about with dialogue was called "Coronal Ridge", and is... Well, see it.
