Summary: Whump, crack, and Winchesters: a nostalgic look back on four and a half years of friends, family, hunting, and the apocalypse... because even a show about the end of the world can be optimistic.


Notes: I managed to use at least one clip each for ALMOST every single episode of the series thus far (only missed 4: Roadkill, Malleus Maleficarum, Metamorphosis, and Family Remains). There is, of course, a focus on my favorites and the crack eps (some of which are one in the same, like Mystery Spot and Changing Channels), but I wanted to spread the love around as much as possible.

Basically this vid reminds me that while these boys have had me gushing tears, heart pounding, knuckles white, reaching for the tissue box blindly, they’ve also had me feel-good laughing and smiling ear to ear. It doesn’t focus on the angsty, and it doesn’t focus on the funny; it brings it all together, everything. The whole show in just under four minutes. What about everything? I LOVE IT. If Supernatural ever wanted a theme song opening sequence, I would want this to be it.

You have a flawless incorporation of characters in this vid, and the way that all of them connect to each other through their fear, their pain, their joy, and their humanity. The transitions between all of these emotions is fantastic, and an authentic retelling of the odyssey of our favorite heroes and the people that matter to them. Love the use of Castiel's appearance for the "moon and stars" bit. And the best message with those final clips: the love is what lasts rather than hurt
