The branch line (kirk ronan branch) which Neil carried Skarloey was Sodor&Mainland Railway in old days. S&MR was the first standard gauge railway in the Island. thefore, he is standard gauge engine.

Neil is by far the weirdest engine in thomas. i have a wooden version of him. also hes never in any of the episodes, as far as i know.
