Tuning an EP82 to beat an R34 (Option video)

Taken from Option2 2006 10. A fairly stock EP82 Starlet Turbo is bullied on the highway by a cocky R34 GTR owner. The EP82 owner then takes his car to HRF Tuners, hands over some cash and asks to beat the Skyline. Que the modified EP appearing to challenge the R34 to a Wangan battle, the EP promptly destroys the R34, this is then repeated on a track...the final meeting is on the dragstrip where the R34 owner has bought a new car to beat the EP. Sadly although the EP gets the drop on the R34, the car suffers mechanical failure and the R34 wins. Just shows what a bit of knowhow can achieve on a 1.3ltr engine!

@InitialDirt That's one unfounded opinion, if a gearbox isn't used right or maintained, it'll fail. The Hoku Racing Factory demo car (that started all this off) ran over 400ps on the stock gearbox and that never failed

@MrSham1996 Ok I get it, you're gay for the stig. I don't own an EP82 anymore, haven't for a few years, I've driven a lot of cars so can speak from some experience. You're completely missing the point and each post you make shows this...put the stig in the R34 and then in the EP82, the EP would win every time. It's all about power to weight, the sub 1000kg EP with around 300hp is going to beat the R34 isn't it? the cost of tuning the EP is less than buying an R34 so no argument there either
