Here's the prototype black plane jet that inspire Transformers' director Michael Bay to create the latest autobot in the movie: JETFIRE from the anticipated sequel Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen coming in 2009.
Clips taken while visiting the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Chantilly, Virginia. (Just 24 hrs ago, Shia LaBouf & Megan Fox were filming here in the museum, too cool!)

  • My father was a wheel! The first wheel! And do you know what he transformed into? NOTHING!!! But he did it with honor!

  • You guys joking? jetfire is a SR-71 blackbird plane in the film, he suits it just right. This plane is not a prototype as it holds the record for top speed mach3 and highest altitude for a plane (nearly outer spac). Yet this plane is from the 60s i think. So it suits him, how such and old thing is still top dog and very advanced. His staff turns into a massive axe aswell and fucks things up!

  • I'M TOO OLD FOR THIS CRAP!!!!!LOL!!!!HES AWESOME!!!!

  • After this movie, I wonder how many people checked the underside of this blackbird to see if it had the Decepticon insignia?

  • @fearofspoons fuck yeah! i grew up watching the various transformers cartoons and my favourite from the modern ones was jetfire. and the blackbird is my favourite plane and ive been to that museum as a little kid. i was so excited when i saw transformers 2 i about died. who the fuck is dumb enough to be at this museum and think this is a prototype? this plane is HISTORIC

  • the SR-71 was the fastest jet in the history of mankind, it went Mach 3 and was so high up in the atmosphere the pilots required NASA space suits, and yet it could take pictures of a soviet taking a dump in the woods so clear, you could see everything and i...mean....EVERYTHING

  • suits his personality from the film well, old but still a badass

  • @kdraper2007 ahahahahahahaha

  • @deathcookie1998 the air and space museum is part of the smithsonian

  • The SR-71 Blackbird isn't a concept or prototype.

  • Wait, I'm confused. The only reason I'm watching this video is because I just watched the movie.

In the movie they said Smithsonian institution's air and space museum in Washington DC. And all of a sudden I say "woh! that's the air and space museum in Ohio. I was just there two weeks ago."

Now I go online to read more about it, and find out that the Lockheed SR 71A Blackbird I saw in Ohio is actually in Virginia? something isn't right!?

  • Is that really the smitsonian i thought it was the air n space museum
