well its kinda obvious that drama always talks about his acting jobs or previous jobs since he mentions it in almost every episode. u dont need to be a ''above average viewer'' to see that...

clubdisney, i wasn't exactly referring to just that when talking of subtleties. and turtle said the "ed burns" line, not drama. i was referring to the great writing in general, which indeed is above average, and indeed often gets wasted on the average viewer. Entourage and is an extremely intelligent show, and an "average" viewer is not. just stating a fact.

second turtle isnt trying to impress anyone right now with the ''name droping'' cuz he only does it to get girls. which in the coffee shop is not the case.
hes simply mentioning ed burns to show drama how important it is for him to get to his audition. Especially since he hardly said it out loud and didnt care bout others.
So i think you who calls urself above avarage shud rewatch the show.
