  • so what if u wanted those stereo effects to work? Is there a way to connect another speaker or cab or w/e?

  • i dont know what ur talking about. im jusr showing u how to connect 4 cable system. that all....

  • can you help i live in spain and have lost my power adapter my boss gt8 was bought in England and when i went to my local music store the guy there said a european boss gt8 adapter would not be the correct wave and the gt8 would work but not sound the same and to get one from the u.k is apain. any body help ??

  • sori mate. i have no idea bout power calculations or anything that is something to do with power....

  • firstly a massive thank you for doing this video

I have not found that the Gt-8 distortion is as good as the marshall amp itself, did you have this problem, I almost want to use the gt-8 for everything (clean crunch) then switch back to the amp lead/distortion i don't think this is possible.

    the distortion sounds digital

what are you thought and experience, thanks

  • its a personal thing. i cannot use the gt8 on the front coz it sound digital for me. if at the back, to my ears, its huge, balsy and warmth. and my live sound is preset 1, bank 1. its called high gain. i did not change the preset at all. im hapi with boss parameters. i just change gain to 9 plus ds1 on top of it. then i change the output to combo return.

  • You hooked it up right but there's one Major thing you've missed. You didn't turn on your LOOP button. That's why your amp knobs don't work. Your GT8 is just basically hooked up to your amp with three additional cables. Turn on LOOP, mess with effects chain, Rock.

  • Really? " Im about to make a video" No shit, Your gonna make a video. Thats why it is on you tube! fuck!

  • OMG! Unforgiven solo LOL

  • @NZLeduc - you're absolutely right. This is a standard series effects loop rig. Like you said, the four cable method allows you to include your amp's preamp in the signal chain when you want it. The proper 4 cable method is:

    Cable 1 - guitar into GT8 input

Cable 2 - GT8 left output to amp FX return

Cable 3 - amp FX send to GT8 loop return

Cable 4 - GT8 loop send to amp main input

  • This is not the proper 4 cable method, the whole point of the 4 cable method is to be able to use your preamp settings from your amp while being able to place effects before and after it. And to be able to switch back and forth from that and the format your using here. I seen a really good video demonstrating this on a Digitech RP1000, different pedal same concept.

  • @skiesburngrey I agree with this. Your method is simply using the Marshall as a power amp and you can just connect the output of the GT-8 to the fx return on the Marshall and that's it. One cable is all you need.

  • what difference does it make if u use 1 way cable?

  • Hi mate , can you tell me about the stand below the amp ? Where i can get one ?

  • @28monkeyking28 connect to another amp i think. bassically connect to 2 amps

  • if your going to bypass the knobs on front anyway just one run cable to the marshall power amp it makes no sense to run 4 cables and get the same result with 2
