Poetry and film in HD by Diane Ward 2011 http://wardsartgallery.imagekind.com/

The Other Side

Tripped on a rope flat to the floor
Fell into space and then stumbled some more
until I hit a surface that felt like a wall
but all that I found was my own failings

Did you ever see the mad hatters hat?
He wore it with pride I can tell you that!
He hid under a table and prayed on his knees
Because he knew nothing that had any wealth

He juggled with tin cans and newspaper ashes
He rapped his knuckles on a paper thin wall
But he wore his hat with pride
Yes, his hat was very tall

Cotton, clocks, plastacine and paper
Nostalgia for the for the green sweets always hated
A breathtaking view from a cornfield window
And a 'gas' station dream that everybody shared

I fell into a swamp of paint and colour
With a dripping cloud perched at the edge
How annoying that drip in my paint
Blow away cloud, I'm falling through space!

The rope had found a meaning
It's existence was for my tripping,
And trip I did
Now I rap on the paper thin door
With little resistance my hand goes straight through
I can see the other side

Thank you for watching : )

  • great !!!

  • GODSPEED

  • Beautiful words and sound :)

  • Simply amazing... Fantastic imagery, and awesome delivery.

  • Really fantastic..............

  • Oh... powerful & beautiful... stunning voice...

  • I like your poem, I like your voice. But, being a foreigner and not speaking English as my mother tongue, I would have liked a clearer recording of your voice, and alcso would have liked a little slower reading.... Anyway, reading the text while listening, helps a lot. Best wishes to you

  • Thank you for video

  • What a great concept - the spoken words, the ink falling. Very evocative, made all the more powerful by your reading and the sound of water falling.

  • Great video, voice & poetry. Really like this :-)
