Some great functional training stuff here. Although I'm not sure I agree that the certification to look for in an off-ice figure skating trainer is just an IYCA...I think I'd prefer someone with an advanced degree (MS or higher) who also has a recognized strength and conditioning cert, like an NSCA-CSCS, for example. The NSCA has a very strong and straight forward statement on youth strength training.

@lindafmb Matthew Blair Davis is a CSCS as well. Most of the IYCA's youth training principles (created by Brian Grasso) are based on the NSCA's guidelines... there is no better organization for "youth fitness" than the IYCA.
