No they are NOT. They are on the decline just like the Devils. Rangers have not been that good for a while. They are not an elite Eastern Conf. team let alone NHL (withe the tough Western teams). They lost to the Buffalo Sabres in 2007 and Pittsburgh Penguins in 2008 (after this very Devils series). In 2009 they lost to the Washington Capitals. Now they can't even make the playoffs.

the rangers are the best team in the eastern conference right now one of the main reasons is because they got a lot of good young players, but the thing about young players is that they start off good but than they don't continue in the end, the rangers best defensman is staal, and the best forwards are zherdev and dubinsky and the only veteran forward on their thats as good is drury, naslund is pretty good but if he was that good the canucks wouldn't have given him up that easy

They are playing good hockey right now. I feel for the Devils fans & the loss of Broduer. Now they will see that its the defense that wins games. Weeks will do great.
