@shurednichso except most boxers are made of study stuff. You can wail on them all day with quick punches but they'll just laugh it off while you tire yourself out.

You also aren't aware of how tough boxing gloves are. They don't block the transfer of force as well as you think. Get socked by somebody wearing a boxing glove sometime and you'll know what I mean.

And since boxers train their arm strength more than their rest of the body, you can bet that one of their punches hurt a lot.

@bananashakes Absolutely true, however there are many pro and amateur level boxers currently in professional mixed martial arts. Whenever someone wants to learn how to punch, obviously they train in boxing and incorporate it into other martial arts to make it more effective in an actual fight. That being said, much of boxing's defense do not work in MMA due to the inclusion of kicks and knees. However, unlike with boxing and muay thai you rarely see any elements of wing chun utilized in mma

@holic120 any boxers in let's say, MMA, but instead hybrids between grappling, kicking, and boxing arts such as jiu-jitsu or muay thai? Because boxing is not suited for combat, it is a sport. Are you going to pit a boxer (not allowed to partake in underground fights), against a muay thai expert, in a bare knuckle fight and say that the boxer will do just fine? The boxer will be slaughtered. I'm sorry for bringing out the wall of text again :)
