@hawkkins562 Formula over breastmilk? Seriously? Also my children started talking around 5-6 months so that means I should I have quit nursing there? Most kids start solids around 4-6 months so again I should have quit nursing then? A MINIMUM OF 12 MONTHS is the bare minimum on how long a child should be nursed. Most dont wean till 2-4 years of age. Kids are so "off" b/c of ignorant folks like you breading...

nursing is beautiful no matter what people say or think..its natural and its the best milk a baby can have...but you know he is 2 and the milk you are producing is good and proper for you newborn, so i would consider stooping with him because of it!!!

@wikinfei More and more studies are saying breastfeeding until 2.5 to 3 years is the best since its very healthy and helps with sicknesses. I personally would maybe stop around 1.5 but who knows im not a mom yet and if i do decide to breastfeed until longer then im benefiting my child-shes a great mother for giving herself to her child (now if the kid was like 7 then that would be a little weird! )

You know, Breast milk is only essentials, for the first 6 months, after that they start eating food that will give them more nutriments, of course breastfeeding gives them comfort, and of course you will breastfeed them at least 1 year . I mean no disrespect, to you. I just wanted to talk about it! My ex ( I had a beautyfull son Premature) I had to fight with my girlfriend, to breast feed him so he would get the Colostrum he needed to build up is immune system. she only breast feed for 1 month:(

@xxxjoelpolexxx Me either! Yay for us proud mommys!!...my baby will turn 2 in about 2 weeks and he still asks for his "teta" as he calls them...lol...everyone loves and admires the fact that I still breastfeed!

@toasterflag The first milk is called collostrum. Its is very rich, contains antibodies for the newborn, and is only produced in small quantities for a few days. As long as the newborn gets all it needs, there's no reason not to let a toddler have the rest.
Other than those first few days, milk only changes in response to weather - when its hot, its thinner so the baby gets more water, and when its cold it more fatty to help the baby stay warm.

I know this is an older video but i just wanted to say that yes Toddlers can get a lazy latch and you do feel their teeth more then when they were youngher, try getting him to attach with a wide open mouth everytime so he dosnt get lazy and not attach properly.

@wikinfei My first two children had teeth at 5/6 months. I know a few babies who were BORN with teeth so your theory is squashed.

I hope this isn't a weird question but i stopped breastfeeding my son at 4 months.. he is now 13 months and i'm pregnant again... when the new baby arrives, eventhough i stopped breast feeding my 13 month old 9 months ago, is it ok to give him breast milk as long as i put the new babies need first? i know his latching days are over but maybe in his cup? just curious because i realized that he was never sick until I stopped...he's had a cold or something every freaking week...lol..

@Mommy0ftw0 yes. lots of moms do. if he wont from breast, try in a cup. he may no longer like the taste but most are okay w/ it.
