Amazing Grace - Single piper begins joined by the LA Scots Grade 1 Band and then the massed bands complete the rendition. Can anyone explain why
LA Scots Grade One left when the massed band started playing?

  • the la scots leaving early was a fuck-up.

  • Ah...that explains a lot. Thanks!

  • Don't think that was the reason and I hadn't thought of that. I don't think that is it because LA Scots

    was the only Grade One band and were at the

    games for "critique and performance" purposes only

    as stated in the program.

    They were not competing. I also seem to remember that

    the massed band with Amazing Grace was at the closing. I'm still puzzled...

  • haha i played in this..

  • Alot of this 'Its scottish! Not british!' Crap drives me mad, when half of the tossers who say it are too lazy to get out there and learn the damn instruments, just stand there with a beer cheering during the black bear and scotland the brave lol. The Scots achieved alot with the British, if you ignore it your ignoring alot of achievements.

  • Im British, and i say its Scottish, but included in the British armed forces.

  • You ain't got to be Scottish to know that was a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace. The sound was almost as if it was heard around the world. And I don't really like bagpipe music.

  • Isn't that the flag of St.Andrew, patron Saint of Scotland, nie the Union Jack; a blasphemy against all free peoples!! Damn the English and their global tyranny!!!

  • It is good to stand for heritage, it is also good to learn what the history is so that you may stand on solid ground; that is the St. Andrew Cross;

    "The night before battle, Saint Andrew reportedly appeared to Angus in a vision, and on the field of battle the next day, a saltire, or x-shaped cross, similar to the one that Saint Andrew was crucified on, appeared in the sky, encouraging the Picts and Scots...from that time onward, the Saltire became the national emblem of the Scots"

  • Quite often, especially at the beginning of competitions, pipe bands are exscused if they are on first in the draw of grades. This way their pipe reeds won't absorb too much moisture. Its not a sign of disrespect that a band or two walk off before or after massed bands.

  • Yet again the Union Jack spoils this video. We are Scottish not British.
