  • Can you use a patch panel to extend multiple amount of network cables?

  • T-568A is Color Scheme w/green/ green/ w/orange/ Blue/ w/Blue Orange/ w/brown /Brown.

There's crossover, rollover, and straight through cables.

Straight through is A to A or B to B.

    Crossover is A to B.

Rollover is A and B Flipped or B and A flipped.

This is kind of like punching a Female RJ45 port to a Cat5 cable with a Male RJ45 connector.

  • For the novice or someone who has a little experience this is a good video. For starting your network

  • That's actually a patch block - patch panel goes into a rack system. These are nice for backboard mounting if no rack is needed or too costly. Also the punch down type is 110 style where normal telephone punch blocks are 66 type (110's are becoming more common). Essentially this is the wiring closet side of the premise (permanent) wiring from the wall jacks. Then patch cables go from the jacks on this panel to switches or other equipment. Can be used for premise wiring for serial equipment too

  • @dashby1969 yes, its for cable managment

  • Would you have a patch panel in a room where it was 2 floors below the server room, and how many cables would come out the back, I am looking at having 45 nodes plugged in. Thanks
