The journey to Lake Chandertal from Rohtang Pass route is fantastic and you come across marvelous scenery of the high altitude deserts as well as the River Chandra Valley area. The area is very less explored and has a few visitors from all over the world who love the nature and mountains. This area is also having beautiful glaciers and high altitude mountains which attract rock climbers too.

  • How did you get gas....

  • @Pkr , it is avaialable at Manali, just before statrting for Rohtang, i think their is no pump further for 100 Kms

  • In the morning when some shops opened, the puncture wala had no water to check the leak as every water drop was frozen. I had to wait and I am astonished that how my tube was safe without tearing off and only a simple puncture repair made me to go to Manali. Had the tube gone tear off, a new tube could be brought only from Manali by going over there, returning back to Koksar and then you can understand the misery. But I can not forget the thrill.

  • Even, I had with me puncture sealing equipment, but I had no time to stand to do so as I could die in drizzling ice beads. I run fast with punctured motorcycle, it could further lead to an accident by going down of hills any time in to deep, but any how I reached to Koksar safe around dark and no body was to repair the motorcycle.

  • Not Leh-Ladhakh, but to Lahaoul & Spiti, it is almost same type of climate & area. High Altitude Desert Mountains. But it was very difficult, risky and hard to do, but thrilling too. I do not recommend unless you are group of four motorbikes with all arrangements. I was caught in snow storm and while I was running for safe place, I got the front wheel punctured.

  • All Salute to you Mr. Bali for your Beautiful Video coverage. Really on such a terrain difficult to travel on Bike. Once again Hats of to you.

  • @pcbali Thanks.. I ahd a great stret side Samosa in Manali after returning from Spiti and Kumzum Pass. Beautiful areas and wonderful people. The roads are rough and I can imagine difficult.. our Rover had one blow-out. It amazes me that people stay in this area, Spiti, throughout the winter when roads are closed. The conditions must be extreme...
