I love Classic Doctor Who, probably a whole lot more than I love NuWho (though don't get me wrong, NuWho's cool in my books, too). I love the characters more, I love the stories, cheesy as they sometimes are, more, I love that it doesn't take itself too seriously. But one thing, the ONLY thing, that I would change about Classic Who is the music. That's kinda blah, if you know what I mean.

Therefore, I've taken the extremely fabulous works that Murray Gold created for NuWho and inserted them into some of my favorite scenes in an attempt to subtly and tastefully enhance them.
I had a few glitchy moments, particularly that scene with Princess Astra and Merak, because I wasn't quite able to isolate the dialogue from the original music, but I hope you'll forgive a few minor audio issues (this seems to be a recurring theme with me, doesn't it?).

Enjoy, and look for more of Doctor Who: Rescored to come (teaser: I'm working on the end of Earthshock).

***Disclaimer: All music is copyright Murray Gold and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, as well as Ron Grainer, the original composer of the Doctor Who theme tune. All video materials are copyright the BBC. I am just using these for fun, and do not intend any copyright infringement.****

  • Fantastic work. I love Classic Who too, and the acting is awesome enough that it doesn't necessarily needed the added punch of dramatic music...But adding Murray Gold's amazing pieces to already awesome episodes just ascends it above and beyond :D

I love the piece used at 3:40-4:07, and I especially love the use of I Am The Doctor as they depart. :D Perfectly timed with Tom's grin. Delightful!

  • Awesome! :D I've just finished the Romana I episodes, and I've got to say that with the correct music, it certainly makes it a bit better, if not more appealing for younger Who fans such as me. :) Can't wait for more!

  • The timing for the music at 2:00 - 2:10 was spot on

  • THIS WAS AMAZING!!! It made something epic even more epic...please do more o f these!!!
