Very nice video :)

Best job I've seen yet, thanks for posting. We were down at 38th Street, which was terrific, but it's nice to see the total view. For those of you who get bored, try starting at 5.40 where it gets really spectacular!

Macy's has sponsored the fireworks for 33 years now. They are produced by Pyros Spectacular out of Rialton, CA. A great group of people - google Pyros and the Souza family. A true family run business.

Great job and quite the promo for the Flip! I thought I was going to be one of the proletariat, stuck amongst the masses on 11th Avenue at 28th till I remembered a nearby bar with a roof deck! Still, not nearly as great of view! Police crowd control was basically "don't let them get to the river". If they shut down the West highway and let people take it over it would work much better.

Love the Flip Cam! And this was a bit of serendipity that we were able to go to the rooftop of this building - a family member used to work there and is still friends with some of his former coworkers.
The police were really corralling everyone, but as you can see in the vid, it's not like the crowd was at all ill-behaved, or rowdy, or crazy - in fact, they all applauded like grownups at the opera. I love New Yorkers!

why are they called macy"s fireworks? is'nt the city responsible for them or is new york so big they get a sponser?

Macy's is the major sponsor for it. You can't make it out on the video, but the lighted Macy's logo is on all the barges that were shooting off the fireworks.

And they go on for about 30+ minutes - they really are impressive! Glad you liked the vid!
(and I think that I inadvertently deleted your last comment, cooldarren - my apologies!)
