Apple iPad 2 Special Event 3/2/11 Part 4: Accessories

In this part of the iPad 2 Special Event for March 2, 2011, Steve Jobs shows off a couple of great accesories for the new iPad 2. The first is a video adapter that allows the iPad 2 to display HDMI video at 1080p. This is video mirroring of the iPad 2 display, so it's not clear how the iPad 2 display is upscaled to 1080p. We'll want to look at this in more detail when we get hold of a iPad 2. The other accessory is a new faceplate cover that is retained by magnets built into the iPad 2 case and magnets in the cover. A very clever design that addresses issues with the original cover: it added bulk and weight and partially blocked the USB connection.
