UFO Invasion

Okay small exaggeration. ;-) This is a time lapse video of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites taken with a GEM Mintron video camera maxed out at 125X frame integration. Lens 8mm f1.3 and limiting magnitude around 8-9. 2.5 seconds per frame played back at 15fps. I sometimes capture over 90 sats in one night. The first pair are intriguing. So is the tumbler.

I saw a satellite for the first time like last week. I looked up & saw three stars in a triangle & the star on top just kept moving, I jumped out of my chair to look at it & was dumbfounded for a minute. I looked at my bf then back up & was like WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? Thought it was a funny story, I saw another one about 5 minutes after that one faded from view.

How long was your camera out for & what region are you from. I'm from central TX & we saw 2 in the span of 30-40mins.

Satellites are best seen within a couple of hours of sunrise and sunset. This is due to the Sun being able to reflect off them before they eclipse within Earth's shadow.

I'm from Queensland Australia. The camera was running all night but the best satellites were caught near sunrise/sunset. With a limiting magnitude of 8-9 I think I've caught about 90 satellites in one night on video.

They are fun to watch and video.

after looking at all your photo's and your vids buddy all i can say is im tottaly flabbergasted by it all!!!!...absolutely amazing!!!!

i shall never dissagree with you on the subject of space my friend thats for sure!!!lol...flippin heck.....ya should be employed by nasa..
