Father Patrick Desbois spoke at the Museum on November 23, 2009 about his work to uncover the truth behind the deaths of 1.5 million Jews in the Ukraine during WWII. Using forensic evidence, eyewitness accounts, and new archival material, he has created a definitive account of one of history's forgotten chapters.
Father Desbois is secretary to the French Conference of Bishops for relations with Judaism and advisor to the Vatican on the Jewish religion.
This talk was presented in conjunction with an exhibition that was on view at the Museum, "The Shooting of Jews in Ukraine: Holocaust by Bullets".
