Featuring the Glock 23 and 27 in the Crossbreed Supertuck IWB holster. This video is about the concerns of concealed carry with the IWB method.

IWB is better suited for colder weather when you can more layers of clothes. As usual in concealed carry, the smaller the gun, the better the concealment. Proper concealed carry, meaning that others won't pick up on you, is difficult to do in everyday situations and downright impossible in others.

I try to target my videos towards the everyman (i.e. my height is 5'10, 200 lbs, wear L or XL shirts and size 36 waist pants) wearing average clothes (not tight nor baggy). I hope that this will give y'all a better idea of what it's like to conceal carry IWB.

By the way, I think it may be easier for women to use this method due to their natural curves that helps in hiding the gun.

  • Good video man, I went through same stuff when trying to find the right fit. I used to carry a Glock 19 wannabe compact. Needless to say I got rid of that piece. Just way to bulky. My PPK was great, but good luck finding ammo. After many different guns, i found the Taurus 709 slim. I live in a hot climate and wear shorts all the time, and the slim has very minimal imprint and I carry it in the same area you do. So, you may want to give it a shot. It breaks down just like the Glock.

  • @saywhatfo thanks for sharing your experiences, yeah the word "compact" is used TOO often among gun manufacturers for guns that are clearly not compact at all (more like mid-sized). I'll take your word on the Taurus, there's no better testing ground for concealed carry other than hot humid climates...it really shows right away what's practical and what's not

  • Switch to full cant. Wear long shirts. Opt for dark colors or dark patterns. Multiple layers or thicker fabrics help. Use a gun belt. Moving the holster an inch or two to the left or right can make a world of difference too.

  • @diggingforgold problem is I can't always wear long shirts in dark colors in multiple layers in every environment (baggy clothes look sloppy too). I have a Desantis gun belt and it does hold the gun a bit better but that's about it. Full cant actually prints more of the gun for me because most of the gun isn't below the belt line but if you sit when most of the gun is below the belt line, the gun points out at an awkward angle, catch 22 situation, still trying to find that sweet spot!

  • Did you have to go up from your original pant size to carry your pistol because I'm looking at the crossbreed IWB holsters but I don't wanna have to alter my style of dress and wear baggy clothes.

  • Don't know about your state, but here in Michigan you don't have to worry about it too much...yeah it freaks people out but it's not like some states were that's brandishing. SOOOO that sort of concern, while still is a problem and hassle, isn't too much of an issue for me.

  • @Qasarean I like to set my holsters while driving or sitting for long period's of time in the Cross Draw position. I find this more comfortable, when lugging around, a Glock 21 or an SA XD40 service model pistol.? From the CD position it is a quick draw, while in a car or sitting in a restaurant etc.?

  • your going to shoot your eye out kid... ( or ass in this case )

  • This has to be one of the better videos regarding IWB holsters on Youtube. It gives an everyday perspective of the problems one might experience with it, and although it does not provide solutions it at least gets the thought processes working toward a solution.

    Great vid.

  • ok, so you have a problem with the iwb holster and glock. is the problem the holster or the glock? do you only find problems with things? do you have any valuable solutions? i've watched 2 of your videos. won't be watching anymore. i sure don't see you providing any solutions. atleast that's my take on it.

  • I love my glocks. I also own a 27 and a 23. Both are very great guns. But they are not ideal for CC due to the "box" like design. I often carry my 23 in a fobus under my coat in the winter when its easy to conceal. The 27 was intended for summer carry, but I might be trading it for a kel tec PF9. The kel tec appears ideal for summer carry.

  • @icoach73

    Spot on.

I carry a Government 1911 (5") in a SuperTuck, and you would never know it's there. Hell, I even forget that it's there sometimes.
