I walked into the room as the cut his cord and set him on Kia's lap, so I grabbed the video camera and followed the nurse as she took Rhyden to weight, measure and clean him up. Kia is behind a curtain at this point, bleeding badly as the nurses discuss how to stop the bleeding. She ended up having two shots and it fixed up just fine.

  • He is a sweetie! I've always wondered...what is that salve they always put across a newborn's eyes and what's the purpose of it?

  • Wow what a handsome boy - My sons named Rhyden aswel :) Hes now 8 months :)Rhydens the best name huh!

  • hooray for new born baby! Congratulations and thanks for sharing Rhyden's first moments. I wanted to know what doctors do when a baby is born (i.e. measurements, agpar etc) and this was perfect. Thank You!

  • new borns are alot tougher than people think - it helps them being scrubed about a little - gets their lungs properly working and nice and warm. i mean being born is pretty traumatic - if you can get through that you can get through anything!

  • That is one strong newborn. He almost rolled over.

  • He's so beautiful and I love hearing Grandma's joy in her voice. I cried just listening to the video and I'll watch it over and over again. Proud Great Grandma

  • god they were by no means gentle and caring with him
