Evidence Based Curriculum - Jim Sibthorp & John Gookin - 2011 NOLS Faculty Summit

This presentation shows what's been discovered in roughly a decade of research about NOLS expeditions. Findings include affirmation that students learn the NOLS core curriculum, certain program factors influence learning, instructors are critical in the learning process, and students transfer a variety of different skills from their courses. The presentation closes with explanations of current research projects that look at more transformational aspects of learning on NOLS expeditions.
