Just experimenting with sprocket chain assembly for a project.
Done in SolidWorks 2010-11.
Notice that the rotational force is being applied only to the sprocket on the left. the other one moves because of the chain attached. :)

  • what type of mates did you use ?

  • @mos3ad2006 I didn't put any mates between the chain and the sprockets. Positioned them by eye with Physical Dynamics on and then in Simulation I had gravity on as well, with 3D contacts between chain links and the sprockets... The motor is only on the first sprocket..
