Career-wise, Adam IS the winner. If he had actually WON the competition, he would be locked into a contract of some kind with American Idol, and Simon Cowell. ;) As the runner up, he likely has much more personal control over his own career. I wouldn't be surprised for a millisecond if the votes were rigged in order for him to has his freedom -- because the producers of the show know he deserved artistic freedom and career control. ;)

@RachaelHx1204 No need to fret for him, notice how the runner-up usually gets more famous/ They aren't ball & chained to american idol, so they can run like a deer. When there's better talent, top 2 loser is sometimes best. I've even seen a coule of contestants "take a dive" just to get away.
