Skyrim Patch 1.4 Fixes, Nerfs & What to Prepare For (Commentary)

You asked for commentary, you got it. Skyrim Patch 1.4 was announced by Bethesda on Thursday. This is the first major patch to address issues with quests and general gameplay issues. They also promised the Creation Kit will be released on Steam soon. Here is a link to the announcement:

I was disappointed that there is no mention of fixes for the huge number of glitches that occur during "The Forsworn Conspiracy", as that quest is almost as bad as "Blood on the Ice". Also, there was no mention of fixes for the numerous issues with the spell "Dead Thrall" or many of the problems that occur during Daedric Artifact quests. This is a good start though, so hopefully patch 1.5 will take care of most of the rest.

ive been refusing to download this patch so i can keep exploiting the oghma infinium will i still be able to do it in patch 1.4 because it sais it fixed isues with book shelfs

i get that it would work in chests and cupboards but from what im hearing it doesn't or it only works on xbox (i have a ps3)

@pimpofdoom chests and cupboards worked in 1.2 when bookshelves were broken. they no longer work in 1.3 but any bookshelf that was not broken in 1.2 still worked in 1.3. 1.4 works the same as 1.3 and i'm sure because the footage at the very beginning of my full review video was recorded using 1.4

Doe the Sightless Pit glitch with 'The Doors TO Oblivion' book still work with 1.4? After I saved, the skeleton no longer appeared.

For me, it still doesn't the fix the Long term play. Mine still laggs after like 4 hours of playing.

When i update it, my charachter somehow teleports to solitude and everything looks blurry, does anybody know how to fix it? Im on PS3

Anyone know about the unusual gem issue? I guess the first time I visited the village the guy is in I gave a bad response and he doesn't want to talk to me anymore. So when I get the unusual gems it says to talk to him to appraise them, but he refuses to talk to me so I'm just stuck with them in my inventory.
