  • I love this clip. I think it's an example of how far "ahead of their time" they were, how they changed rock and roll forever.

And why they're one of the greatest bands of all time!

  • MC5 totally freaking out the uptight terminal stasis!

  • Total Anarchy !!! Groovy...

  • Fantastic "Zeitgeist" clip. The MC5, what they were about & up against ( I don't think the presenter realised the irony of the Vietnam comment) great posting!

  • @skyehoyt1971 Sometime you just get lucky :) right time right place. This video rocks! I love the announcer comparing it to Vietnam.

  • @sternej lucky bastard!

  • I saw them perform in the spring of 69'. It was my first concert. They played at a high school gym. To this day it was possibly the loudest concert i've ever seen, However, back in those days sound guys actually knew how to mix sound so it sounded great. The sound and music went right through your body. Very visceral, you could feel it. What an amazing experience. I've seen hundreds of concerts and that was the most memorable.

  • Me too dude. I stumbled across em when I read the liner notes for the Ramones Mania best of circa 87 or so. I had to wait like 4 or 5 years before ther shit got re-issued but you WONT be disappointed.

  • I resemble that remark :)

  • black to comm baby, black to comm...

  • I was a punk in 1979 and spent the last thirty years listening to bands like the clash, pistols, vibrators etc. The Damned covered looking at you in '79 for the machine gun etiquette album I didnt even know it was a cover until recently as I had never even heard of MC5. This band is amazing I cant believe that I never came across them before.

You can see how they influenced the early punk bands. Gotta get my hands on more of their stuff, just blew me away.

  • Clearly you are an idiot.
