You don't have to do 100 times anything. You can also wiped out doing squat presses or bench. You can get wiped competing in ground work in MMA. You can get wiped running up hill. We get that. The point of this exercise was a substitute for xfit competitions, in the context of a timed event, while away from their normal xfit setting. What part of this exercise do you think were ever declared as a "strength gain" excercise? You were projecting.

Traditionalist does not have to be a negative term. There are many purist and traditionalist that have no problem with CrossFit. The problem is you come here and automatically calme that I SAID "fittest on earth." Do you see how that makes you look? Misplaced attacks. Go after the ones that actually said it and ask them to prove it in a competition.

  • @aaronrdb

For example, martial arts masters are purist (Karate). But I have the utmost respect for them. The just chose not to do CF or heavy lifting of any sort. That's fine. But categorizing someone that happens to follow a more traditionalist path AND acts like they KNOW IT ALL is quite different. Those are the ones I have a problem with.In that context, "traditionalist or "purist" isn't nowhere near as pompous as calling someone "meat head" or "idiot." Understand now the difference?

  • @aaronrdb

I think you need to actually do one class of CrossFit. Just one. The goal is fitness in ones weight class, in the context of self competition (timed), and have fun. Now, the first time I saw them doing deadlifts, clean and jerk, overhead lifts. I looked dangerous. But then I went to he class and learned about proper form and leverage techniques. They do not just say, "Hey! See this weight? Lift it fast." All you are doing is viewing ads and then making your assessment. It's narrow.

  • @EeeScape read above about how you are calling me out on exactly what you do....at least admite CF is not the only gym to do what it does, it is not new or original, im just stating fact, call it what you want. i not saying it is bad, but i do see what it does to some people, just read others comments. and it has methods that increase risk of injury, that is my main concern, i want people to be fit, have fun with how they do, but safely, effectivly and intelligently. b well, im done :)

  • @EeeScape again envious of what? im in great shape, im happy with how i train my clientele base, in a combination of traditional and non traditional methods, r u lookin proof? like i said many avenues to physical fitness, all have benefits, all have flaws, which is why i have cross trained for decades, i have engaged both on varsity and college teams for various sports. i just others to be safe and train intelligently, and dont follow a gym like its a cause, life is complicated enough.

  • @EeeScape dont be a hypocrite, you use the terms "tradionalist" and "purist" in order to put down non x fiters, and make yourself feel better, you pigeonhole others, and yes look at your other responses, they are pompous. i never claimed to be all end all, but i see many x fitters that post things like fittest men on earth, they remind me of the juiceheads that used to listen to in a "regular" gym decades ago. dont claim innocence, admit a lot of you sound like zealots.

  • @aaronrdb

So, here's a story. You read about Crossfit, you watch videos, you get it in your head it's only about marketing, then you get angry. They offer other methods of fitness, yet you reject it like a Luddite and get angry. Then, you carry that around inside. Later, you come here with a chip on your shoulder acting all high and mighty, calling people names, stereotyping, and then have the gaul to say I'm pompous? Ha! Grow up!

  • @aaronrdb

You are envious that others don't follow your "purist" methodology. It's typical in any field of work. There's always those that think they know it all. By the way, I never claimed that CF was the one and only. It was YOU that came here and automatically pigeonholed me as one of the characters you despise that you build up in your head. I didn't not way anyone not a crossfiter is envious. I said YOU were! Yet, you call people names, like meat head and idiot. Pot, meet kettle.

  • @aaronrdb you love crossfit, have fun at their gym, i use my own gym with methods i enjoy, which work for me and my clientele base. envy should not be used with regards to fitness, you keep saying anyone not a crossfitter is envious..of what? there are so many ways to get and stay fit, you find what you love, why would anyone be envious of anyone else. Its like saying a runner is envious of a biker..stop being pompous already and i would respect you more. stay fit and have fun yourself
