Thanks mate, really helped me out with that jumper 3 setting + some extra info. (: If this is like watching paint dry, then paint-drying is very educational!

so... does selecting 3 on the jumper settings allow freeband and the marscap mod at the same time?
The way the program looks, I noticed it deselected the other mod when you enabled the freeband mod.
is there any benfit to using the marscap over the freeband mod?

@yellowjacketf4i short answer is no, you can't have it operate in two modes at once. The difference between Free band and Marscap is what frequencie ranges you can TX on.

@joecolfs Thanks for the reply. For some reason I was under the impression that the free band opened up more TX frequency's than the mcarscap mod . I am not very knowledgeable yet, i'm just now studying to get my license.
So by selecting number 3 in the commander software, which mod exactly does that do? Freeband or the marscap? I noticed you said the program was wrong for the VX-7R.
Thanks for you reply!

@yellowjacketf4i Selecting the 3rd jumper will give you the freeband mod. Yes the free band opens up the widest range of TX and RX freqs.
Cheers
