sorry i didn't respond earlier but the answer is snot very well its readable but very blurry if you want a camera like this that records text i would get the Kodak zi8 it has macro

flip will replace the laynard and bag if you ask them,lol they will do atleast that. they are sending me a replacement for my flip Ultra sd (flip ultra gen 2)
