JADEN N DYLAN... For parents n any 1 else that wants 2 know a lil about Autism..x

The 1st things i learn't about Autism came from professionals/Doctors, books & documentaries n since then most of my information on Autism has come from the ppl that actually live it, parents n mainly ppl with Autism n Aspergers, not only are they some of the most interesting, intelligent n kind ppl that i've ever spoken 2 but their patient n really helping me understand my boys from their point of view, instead of some bloke with a textbook, who's never spent 5 minutes around some 1 with Autism n who happens 2 b articulate, living it is very different......As the ppl that work with Jaden daily would tell ya, they dont just stand there n preech, they actually spend everyday with these kids, they see the good times & the not so easy prts.. This is my 2 beautiful boys & the the lil things that make them who they are.. Autism is so misunderstood n Im just scratching the surface myself.. They're not another species... As 1 young woman with Autism recently said, they're just like every 1 else just with a twist on it lol... Jadens got the same attitude towards food as anything else, he takes the bits he wants n gets rid of the rest... 2 get them involved in anything we av 2 make it sound like the most exciting thing ever lol n keep the speech as basic as possible, i spent the 1st yr of Jadens life talking 2 him like an adult lol, then common sense kick'd in after seeing a speech therapist n i realised he didn't even know the basics n i've been waffling away 2 him, i must of confused the life out of him, i would hold a drink up n say "Jaden would u like some juice" lol poor lil man didn't know what that wet stuff he wanted woz called with all those words, so we've broke it down now & we just say "juice", he wont repeat the word but he knows some of that wet stuff is on its way lol... Sometimes the tone of our voice helps n sometimes not so much, but we keep trying anyway............
