Mimosa pudica (Sensitive Plant) (pudica = shy), is a creeping annual or perennial herb often grown for its curiosity value: the compound leaves fold inward and droop when touched or shaken, re-opening within minutes. The species is native to South America and Central America, but is now a pantropical weed.

  • Are you sure this is Mimosa pudica and not another species of Mimosa? It seems like is have a lot more leaves on each stem compared to the usual set of 4 that is on Mimosa pudica. Also, was this video taken at some sort of botanical gardens?

  • @metranisome I am not sure, it may be another species. It was taken from my brother's home garden.
