  • What was that one with seven cats that you catch the tail end of? Reminds me of something from the Canadian version, a short in French about seven cats on a wall...or was it six? Anyways, this is a nice clip.

    ~Ra'akone

  • That was a computer animated cartoon with cats sneaking out the house but I forget the rest though.

  • This one is on the advertising reel at the beginning of the "Old School" DVDs...where the Sesame Workshop ad says "Children in America are counting on you."

  • That's because it was obviously released on a video because all those quick inserts you see were I believe released on Video.

  • i used to love that part!!! when the kids would step the number of the day. every time it came on i would do the step with them. thats how i got into stepping

  • You know, is it just me, or is it one of the great mysteries of femalehood that little girls on the playground are always singing long songs in unison while clapping off each other's hands? It seems to be some universal tenant of girlhood that always left this little boy scratching his head---"How do they REMEMBER these songs, and how do they also concentrate on getting their clapping routine right?"

I pose the question to all former little girls :)

  • omg i've been looking for this!! i used to love this segment when i was little!

  • This is the only other one I found from you.

  • everyone is just ignoring the boy in the middle...

  • Those girls look great wearing overalls

  • Thanks for posting this video!

I agree with dubbsakamelodee that the children were doing a step routine. Learn more about steppin (stepping) by visiting the cocojams. Also learn about girls foot stomping cheers on that site. Those movements are very much like steppin.

  • like wat??

  • If you notice at the end you'd notice something familiar...

  • LOL! What they were doing was "stepping." it's derived from African cultures. Africans used to "step" as a way to prepare for war or celebrate. Today, it is celebrated as a form of song and dance. And speaking of boys, I know that little boy in the middle had to get some kind of slack for being the only one with all those girls at that age.
