Time lapse of pumpkin from pollination to harvest. High speed camera of pumpkin death with 1/2 pound of TNT.

Although all you see is its growth and explosion, this pumpkin traveled nearly 700 miles to attend a prestigious pumpkin festival, at which it took 4th place.
These sequences were filmed as part of the production of Bill's Big Pumpkins. A giant pumpkin documentary about a midwestern man, Bill Foss, and his growing season as he attempts to break various records.

just so everyone knows .. . . the "pound counter". . was waaay off and made just to amaze. . . that was maaaaybe a 500 - 600 pound-er. . . not a thousand. . . . . .

@SpidermanRun Haha, and your an expert how? Do you even know how to measure giant pumpkins to estimate their weight? Were you there to do it? I was. I filmed it growing every day and witnessed it being weighed officially at the Anamosa Pumpkinfest in 2005. All of which is documented in the movie Bills Big Pumpkins.

@GanEdenAustralia We set up a computer in a little weather proof house and used a web camera. It was a dog house for the camera and a bird house for the camera actually.
