Naval Captain Porter and Col. Mykleby of the Marines, military strategists working at the highest level of government, present highlights from their paper, "A National Strategic Narrative." This is powerful, obvious, common sense. I understand this concept is getting some real play with the Obama administration. We can only hope that is so for the sake of ourselves and future generations. I'm spreading this talk through all my social media and list serves.

This really deserves a wider audience. It is really remarkable to listen to two military men advocate non-linear ways of knowing and promote ecological literacy as a way beyond our current narrow minded ideologies and zero-sum game thinking. Coming from the hyper-masculine world of the armed forces, these men pushed through to other side in a quest for more balanced ways of knowing. Not expected, but sorely needed...which makes them all the more valuable as conduits.
